Not at all! At Burlesque L’amour we are an exclusively adult dance studio and have students from 18 – 70 years old, of all levels of ability.

Whether you’ve only ever danced whilst no one is watching or have performed your whole life, we have a class for you. We have many fantastic beginner classes across all studio locations you can check out here.

Each class on the timetable learns a different routine, so it’s best to stick to the same class/classes each week as your teacher will add new choreography each week. Although each class is listed as a heels class, we like to mix things up and keep things fresh, so you may have a slow, sexy routine followed by a faster, fun routine, followed by a chair routine. The possibilities are endless and the teachers love to give us new challenges!

Beginner lessons are suited to everyone, however, if you believe you may suit intermediate or advanced lessons, please let us know when you enquire.

Our intermediate and advanced classes are held at our Warana (HQ), Nambour and North Brisbane locations.

An individual class costs $20 however should you enrol in more than one, each extra class is an additional $5 per class, per week there after.

We use a platform called GloFox for bookings and payments. We offer a no lock in, cancel anytime membership via Direct Debit. Please feel free to send us an inquiry to learn more about this!

Rather than adhering to a term based structure, we dance most weeks of the year. We generally do large intakes directly after the studio shows, however fill any vacancies between shows off our waitlists.

Our next large intakes commence on 18 March 2024, 10 June 2024 and 20 August 2024.

As the name suggests, these classes are invite only however, if you are interested, please chat to the teacher so that they know you are keen!

Wear your favourite activewear or whatever you feel most comfortable in. You do not require dance shoes for your first class – runners are fine!

Most of our dancers wear heels and if this is something you would like to try, you may choose to wear your favourite and most comfortable pair of heels to dance in. Generally our costuming will include either a nude or black heel – however if you need more information, feel free to drop us a DM or email!

Absolutely!

We generally have four large shows per year, one in March, June, August (with performances over two nights) and a further single night show in November.

Our next scheduled shows are 7 & 8 June 2024, 16 & 17 August 2024 and 9 November 2024. These shows will be held on the Sunshine Coast.

Ticket sale release dates will be announced via our social media and in classes.

Show participation is not compulsory and we have a number of students who prefer to come to weekly classes however not perform in shows.

Your class will commence organising costumes as soon as the class starts working on a routine. We aim to source costumes online and buy in bulk to keep the costs as low as possible. The style of shoe to be worn will also be confirmed in your classes.

Further, all dancers who perform in shows are expected to wear stockings – with many of our dancers choosing to wear stockings and fishnets over the top. Hello beautiful, tanned legs on stage!

You may choose your own hair and makeup styles, however we strongly encourage neat and tidy hairstyles so the audience can see your beautiful faces!

For stockings and cabaret shoes/foot undeez, we recommend Showtime Dancewear. They have a physical store at Maroochydore and if you mention that you are a student at Burlesque L’amour and they will assist in purchasing the right items.

There are also a number of online dance stores that stock stockings/tights, fishnets, knee pads, Foot Undeez, heels - whatever your dance requirement is!

For heels, many students source black or nude heels online from sites such as Burju, Vivaz, SHEIN, Light in the Box etc.

Heels may also be sourced from other shops, depending on your budget and the style you are after. If you have any questions, please speak to our administration or teaching staff.

Yes! We offer private dance lessons and performances for private events and celebrations such as hens’ parties, birthday parties, business events and award ceremonies. Please note, we do not offer “adult” entertainment such as topless waitressing / bucks night entertainment.
